Matt Lewns to help Accountants drive growth

Easy-to-implement iplicit accounting software means increased revenues and greater efficiencies.

Award-winning software developer iplicit has appointed Matt Lewns to help accountants generate more revenue and boost their clients’ growth.

Matt LewnsChartered management accountant Matt has joined iplicit from top 10 firm Mazars UK where he spent the last three years as a Financial Outsourcing Manager.

As Partner Manager at iplicit, Matt will be working with accountancy firms to help them grow by providing the developer’s powerful and intuitive true cloud accounting software for their clients.

Accountants stand to gain more in software implementation fees with iplicit opening the door to the mid-market space. It will enable practices to implement and provide a more functionally rich accounting solution.

iplicit has been developed specifically for the underserved mid-market – providing a lifeline for SMEs and nonprofit organisations that have outgrown Sage 50, QuickBooks and Xero but cannot justify the costly and time-consuming upgrade to systems such as NetSuite, Dynamics and Intacct.

iplicit takes an average of just 16 applied days to implement and go live, at which point practices and clients start benefiting from its time and cost efficiencies. This is a fraction of the time needed to implement the larger corporate systems, which come with costly associated fees and can take many months to set up.

Launched in January 2019, iplicit won a brace of ‘best software’ awards in two consecutive years. It now has more than 7,500 users in 52 countries – and is on track to onboard 60,000 users by 2025.

Matt said: “The benefits of iplicit speak for themselves – so when the opportunity arose to be part the iplicit story, it was something I couldn’t turn down.
“All of a sudden you have an affordable mid-market solution that meets your clients’ needs and provides the opportunity for accountancy practices to implement a solution beyond the likes of Xero, QuickBooks and Sage 50.”

“I am really looking forward to building relationships with like-minded accountants who will quickly see the benefits of what iplicit has to offer and its rapid growth within the marketplace.”

Matt is originally from Poole in Dorset. He gained his BA in Accounting and Finance at Plymouth University then qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2017 while running the finance function at School Business Services, a global provider of education products and support.

In 2018 he joined Mazars UK, becoming a Financial Outsourcing Manager a year later and being identified for further promotion. With a team of 14 spanning two UK offices, Matt was responsible for a broad spectrum of clients ranging from sole traders through to large multinational corporates.

In February 2022, iplicit was voted AccountingWEB’s best Enterprise Accounting/ERP 2021 (beating six other finalists into runner-up position). In 2021, iplicit was named Accounting Excellence Mid-Market & Enterprise Accounting Software of the Year 2020.

With 38 employees and 18 open positions, iplicit has three offices in London EC1, Bournemouth and Dublin.

How it all works

iplicit’s architecture is quite special; it’s true cloud and only in the browser, but it looks and feels like a desktop application. No layer upon layer of tabs opening and probably the most intuitive navigation that you will find in the marketplace today. Take a look for yourself.
